Ryan, president of online design boutique Elsewares, met us for lunch. We chose Rice, because it’s quiet there and the beautiful weather called for a nice, long stroll. All three of us ordered indian chicken curry. New discovery: a pleasant cafe con leche.

Ryan is a fascinating guy. Aside from starting one of the most well-known online stores, he used to be a journalist and film director. We traded war stories and talked about Hear, Hear, a project of ours Ryan takes interests in. He offered some fantastic ideas, which we’ll hopefully get around to soon. We also ask Ryan a lot about his new venture - Supermarket, which looks promising. Upcoming fieldtrip: Greenpoint and the Supercorp headquarters.
